Easter

Easter snuck up on me this year. It is probably because we had been out of town so all of the preparations were very last minute. The night before we decorated easter eggs.

Sunday morning the kids woke up and spied all of the eggs hidden in the living room. The Easter baskets were also hidden (a tradition from Tadj's family) and filled with presents (a tradition from my family). After church we went to my parents house where we were all surprised to find that the Easter bunny also made a stop there. They gathered all of the eggs (we think) and the kids were also treated with Easter gifts from Mimi and Papa. We all then enjoyed a delicious feast. Here are the kids about half-way through the egg hunt.
All dressed-up and anxious to get out of these fancy clothes!
I need to comment that I know that Easter is not about some silly rabbit. We talked with the kids about why we celebrate Easter and while they understand it is a celebration of the resurrection of Christ, I hope that someday they will more fully understand and appreciate what that means in our lives. That because of our Savior we too can be resurrected and have the opportunity to return to live with our Heavenly Father again. We appreciate this time of year and the opportunity to reflect on our many blessings, especially our Savior, Jesus Christ.
